About Me

Hi, I’m Kathi!

I’m Anna-Katharina Polke – FrameRunner, trainer, and competitive athlete from Tutzing at Lake Starnberg. I discovered FrameRunning in my late thirties, and what started as recreational training has become a central part of my life.

FrameRunning – My Sport

FrameRunning is a Paralympic sport in which athletes run using a specially designed three-wheeled frame without pedals. The frame provides stability, enabling running and racing for people with cerebral palsy, arthrosis, or coordination impairments.

I train six times a week: twice with head coach Carlos Ávila de Borba at the Para Athletics State Training Center Munich and four times independently with careful performance monitoring.

Trainer at the State Training Center

Alongside my own sport, I work as an instructor for FrameRunning and Para Athletics at the Munich training center. Training for athletes from Upper Bavaria takes place at Post SV, every Tuesday from 4–6 PM.

My goal: to make FrameRunning more widely known. To this end, I’ve started a lecture series where I share my personal story and journey into competitive sport with apprentices and students.

Awards

In April 2024, I was honored for my extraordinary volunteer dedication to FrameRunning with the Medal of Honor for Special Services to Sport in Bavaria and the Sports Badge of the Federal President.
